Meet Erin: Shreveport Photographer with a Passion for Storytelling Through the Lens

Hi, I’m Erin, and I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a professional photographer based in Shreveport, Louisiana, serving the surrounding areas with a focus on couples photography, maternity sessions, and Fresh 48 newborn photography. My journey into photography wasn’t a straight line—it’s been a beautiful, winding path full of life, growth, and rediscovery.

I started my photography journey back in 2018 with a little Canon Rebel camera, a big dream, and a whole lot of heart. At the time, I was working as a veterinary technician and going to college to become a respiratory therapist. Photography began as a creative escape, something I turned to when I needed a break from studying and long shifts. I quickly realized how much I loved capturing real, raw moments and the unique connections between people.

Then life threw me a beautiful curve-ball—I got pregnant with my son, William. I took a step back from photography to focus on my growing family. But once William was born, the urge to create and capture memories pulled me back in. I started picking up my camera again, taking on small photo-shoots whenever I could, slowly building my clientele and sharpening my craft.

After graduating from school, I began working full-time at the Level 1 trauma center in my area, spending most of my time in the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit. It was intense and meaningful work, but once again, life had a new chapter in store—I became pregnant with my daughter, Amelia. With two little ones and a demanding job, I had to put my camera down for a while.

Now that my children are a little older and my schedule has finally found a rhythm, I knew it was time to chase my dream wholeheartedly. I took the leap, made it official, and launched my own photography business—LLC and all. This isn’t just a side hustle anymore; it’s my passion, my purpose, and my path forward.

 

These days, I specialize in maternity, couples, and Fresh 48 sessions—capturing the tender, fleeting moments that define life’s most beautiful seasons. Based in Shreveport, LA, I serve families, couples, and new parents in the surrounding areas who want storytelling-driven images full of emotion and connection.

One thing I’ve always been nervous about is wedding photography—the stakes feel high, and the moments are once-in-a-lifetime. But 2025 is the year I’m stepping out of my comfort zone: I’ve booked my first wedding, and while I’m a little nervous, I’m even more excited to grow, learn, and give it everything I’ve got.

I truly believe that photography is more than just taking pictures—it’s about preserving emotion, freezing moments in time, and giving people the gift of reliving their favorite memories over and over again. I’m so honored to be trusted with that responsibility, and I can’t wait to see where this journey leads.
